Getting started is easy! The first step is to have you complete two necessary forms - Medical History and Consent Form

Upon arriving at our office, one of our certified dental assistants will review and chart both your chief complaint and the history of pain/treatment prior to taking digital x-rays. Our endodontists will then review this information and examine the soft tissue of the head, neck, and oral cavity. Modern diagnostic tests are utilised to determine the health of your teeth. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the pros and cons of various treatment options are discussed as well as the benefits and risks of the recommended treatment. This will allow you to make an informed decision as to how to best proceed.

If root canal treatment is necessary, a review of
post-op care and effective pain medication regimens are reviewed

An estimate of the costs and time commitment is always provided

If endodontic therapy is necessary, it can often be performed on the same day.

Five things to review before your appointment:

1. Previous X-Rays (Radiographs)

If possible please bring old x-rays to your appointment as they do provide useful information. However, old x-rays cannot be used in lieu of new diagnostic radiographs at the Richmond Endodontic Centre. We understand the desire to reduce exposure to radiation and strive to only take x-rays that are necessary for proper diagnosis and treatment. The digital radiographic system at the Richmond Endodontic Centre uses significantly less radiation than traditional film-based x-rays.

2. Medications

Please bring a complete list of all the medications you have taken in the last three months and a list of all of your medical conditions. An incomplete list of medications can result in treatment being delayed. Also, please bring any inhalers or other emergency medical devices or medications with you.

3. Referral Slip

If your dentist has given you a referral slip, please bring it with you to your appointment

4. Insurance Information

If you are fortunate to have dental insurance, please bring the relevant information with you to your appointment. Please see the costs section for more details.

5. Retainers, Mouthguards, Partials

Please bring any retainers, mouth guards, partial or complete dentures to your appointment.
